Are Dell laptops good for programs like Photoshop and Maya?

Whatever laptop you buy just make sure you don't buy a Dell as the quality of Dell is very bad and were you to read the newspaper you will learn that Dell is having problems with all of their computers because they put in cheap parts that don't last as long as the better made parts. This is called cutting corners and Dell cut corners to sell as many computers to the public without caring about quality but rather about quantity. You can go to a computer store that makes custom laptops for people and have one made for you to your exact specifications. It will probably cost more than the name brand laptop but it won't have all the garbage on it that takes up space on the hard drive that you won't use anyway. You may be able to find a good name brand laptop that will suit your needs by going into one of the big store outlets such as Best Buy and see if they can come up with a laptop that will suit your needs. Just remember all the hype about Dell is made by the advertising department of Dell and is directed at students who will only think of Dell because that is all they are hearing and seeing being advertised. There are better computers out there and I suggest being very discriminatory while you look and do a lot of internet research on each computer to see if there any problems being reported on a particular computer you are considering buying. You will be in the ball park of around $1,000.00 to get a good laptop but not one of the best as the best run more than $1,500.00 and may not be what you need anyway as the performance of the computer components you are asking for are within the range of a $1,000.00 computer. Don't forget you will want to get one with Windows 7 as were you to get one with Windows Vista you will be getting a failure on the part of Microsoft as Steve Blamer, the CEO of Microsoft admitted that Windows Vista isn't that good and Windows 7 is better and so was Windows XP. You may not even need to buy a Word program as I believe you can get it free on the internet and even store your files on the internet for free. I am not taking the time to look and see where the free Word program may be found on the internet and will leave that up to you to look for. Were you to have more computer stores other than Best Buy which seems to have taken over the market that sell name brands of laptops I suggest going to them and seeing what they have that may fit your needs. Competition is the name of the game and were you to find a computer at a store that is selling for a good price you may want to take the time and see if you can get the same computer over the internet at a lower price as there are many suppliers who advertise on the internet and will undercut any price one may find in the stores and some even have free shipping but even with the shipping cost the cost is less as often times the state tax doesn't have to be paid if the laptop is purchased from a company that doesn't have offices in your particular state where it would be required for them to charge tax on the purchase. All you need do is type in the laptop model number and do a Google search and you will find many sellers. You may also try eBay as many sellers also advertise and sell their products on eBay. I hope I gave you some idea as to how to go about finding a laptop that will suit your needs. It takes research on your part to finalize the buying and you will do it and have a computer that will serve you well.
