Should i choose the drum brake model compared to disc brakes?

i am gonna but a honda cbf stunner.. the drum alloy version is arnd 4k lesses than the disc alloy version? i want to save cash so i feel i should go for the drum alloy one.. wat exactly is the difference b/w disc and drum brakes? do disc brakes have any MAJOR advantage compared to drum brakes?
